Hampton University junior guard Kwame Morgan was named HU Athlete of the Week after his outstanding performance on the basketball court.

Morgan (Largo, Md.) helped the Pirates beat Maryland Eastern Shore and South Carolina State this past week to take over first place in the MEAC. He went off against UMES on Monday, scoring 30 points on a career-high eight 3-pointers in front of a national television audience on ESPNU.

Morgan also scored 14 points in Saturday's win against South Carolina State. For the week, Morgan went a combined 9-for-20 (45.0 percent) from behind the arc.
