Hampton University junior Shine Huwe was named HU Athleete of the Week following her performance on the softball field this past week.

Huwe (Green Bay, Wisc.) was one of three Lady Pirates named to the 2012 MEAC All-Tournament Team after Hampton went 2-2 in the 2012 MEAC Softball Championships in Ormond Beach, Fla., advancing to the semifinals.

She went 5-for-14 in those four games, with two home runs (one each on Thursday against Savannah State and Florida A&M). She drove in five runs in those four games, including three in Thursday’s 15-6 win over Florida A&M.
