Hampton University junior linebacker DeVonte' Hawkins was named HU Athlete of the Week after his outstanding performance on the football field this past Saturday.

Hawkins (Knoxville, Tenn.) had a team-high 16 tackles – including five solo stops – in Saturday’s 45-7 loss to Old Dominion. He also recorded a tackle for a loss, totaling two yards.

So far this season, Hawkins leads the team in tackles with 35.
