PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- The Hampton University men's cross country team finished sixth out of seven teams on Saturday in the Maryland-Eastern Shore Lid-Lifter Invitational, held at the UMES Driving Range/Cross Country Course. The Pirates finished the meet with 166 points.
Berian White (Christiana, Del.) paced the Pirates with a time of 28:27.45 to finish 30th. Junior
David Kimani (Kenya) finished 37th with a 29:27.06, while
Mike Davenport (Pleasantville, N.J.) ran a 29:48.07 to finish 39th. Freshman
Xavier Fraction (Sewell, N.J.) made his Hampton debut by finishing 41st with a 30:09.43, and
Bryan Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md.) ran a 39:22.85 to finish 49th.
Four Pirates did not finish the race.
University of Maryland won the team title with 38 points. Maryland's Alex Lundy won the individual title, running the 8K course in 26:02.41.
