2010 Lady Pirates cross country schedule

HAMPTON, Va. –
The Hampton University men's and women's cross country teams released their 2010 schedule on Monday, a slate including six regular-season races.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates will open the season on Sept. 4, when they head to Princess Anne, Md. for the Maryland-Eastern Shore Lid-Lifter Invitational, before returning on Sept. 18 for the Maryland-Eastern Shore Cappy Anderson Invitational.

On Sept. 25, Hampton will head to Williamsburg, Va. for the William & Mary Inter-Regional Challenge, before heading to Cary, N.C. on Oct. 2 for the second annual Great American HBCU Challenge. Both the Pirates and Lady Pirates finished second in the event last season.

After Hampton goes back to Princess Anne, Md. for the UMES Hawk Challenge on Oct. 9, the Pirates and Lady Pirates will run in the William & Mary Tribe Open in Williamsburg, Va. on Oct. 16 for the final regular-season race of the year.

The 2010 MEAC Cross Country Championships will be held in Princess Anne, Md. on Oct. 30. The Lady Pirates finished fourth in last year's meet, with Jahlisa Smith winning the individual MEAC title, while the Pirates finished seventh.

In all, Hampton will make four trips to UMES on the season.

The NCAA Southeast Regional Championships will be held in Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 13, with the Lady Pirates ending the season on Nov. 20 at the IC4A/ECAC Championships in Bronx, N.Y.
