FLORENCE, S.C. – The Hampton University women's soccer team opened the Div. I Independents Tournament hosted by Francis Marion on Friday afternoon with an 11-0 loss to Delaware State at Hartzler Field.
The Lady Pirates are 0-9-0 on the season.
Bri Musco, Danielle Valente, and Briana Villa each had two goals for the Hornets, and Delaware State had eight different players score a goal.
Delaware State (7-9-3) led 6-0 at the half.
Terisha Simmons made nine saves in the first half for the Lady Pirates, before
Kinyeer Kirton went in-net in the second half and made three saves.
Delaware State held a 38-1 advantage in shots – 24-1 in shots on goal. The Hornets also had a 15-0 edge in corner kicks.
