NORFOLK, Va. -- The 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Conference volleyball teams were announced on Tuesday and two Hampton Lady Pirates were recognized by the conference head coaches and sports information directors.
Junior
Reeana Richardson was a second team All-MEAC selection, while freshman
Lena Reed-Petracek was named to the All-Rookie team.
Richardson, from Ellicott City, Md., was fourth in the conference in kills/set (3.37) and fifth in points/set (3.65). She ended the regular season with a pair of double-doubles recording 25 kills and 12 digs against Delaware State on November 10 and 23 kills and 12 digs against Norfolk State two days later. Richardson had 18 kills in a three-set match against Savannah State which is the most in the MEAC in a three-set match this year.
Reed-Petracek, from Alameda, Ca., is ranked ninth in the conference in assists/set (6.39) and seventh in MEAC matches for assists/set (7.75). She had four games of 40 assists, topped by 49 on Nov. 10 against Delaware State.
Hampton enters the 2017 MEAC Tournament starting on Friday afternoon when they face Bethune-Cookman University at 4 pm in Princess Anne, Md.
