HAMPTON, Va. (Nov. 3, 2025) ... The 2025 Hampton University volleyball team hosts cross-water rival Norfolk St. Tuesday night in the second edition of the Battle of the Bay in the 2025 season. The Pirates enter the night after falling to Northeastern in two matches over the weekend, while Norfolk St. enters after dropping two to Maryland Eastern Shore. 

Hampton was led by Racquel Frazier (15) and Katerina Pappa (13) in the two matches, over the weekend.. Morgan Warren led Hampton with 22 assists, while Ida Wiszomirska added 11. Jaya Rimm (17) and Maria Clara Andrade (15) led the way defensively, each recording over 15 digs.

The Spartans enter the week with a 2-22 record, having wins over Hampton and Morgan St. Over the weekend they dropped two five set matches against UMES

In the first meeting between the two this season, Hampton was led by Frazier's 12 kills with Pappa added nine. Warren recorded a team best 22 assists on offense while Andrade tallying a game high 12 digs. 

ABOUT HAMPTON
Warren leads the Pirates with 380 assists on the season, best for ninth in the CAA. Hampton is led offensively by Frazier (193) and Pappa's (157) kills on the season. Campbell has recorded a team high 43.0 blocks on the year while 18 of them have been solo.

While Frazier and Pappa lead the Pirates in kills, Rimm (91) Campbell (69) and McNeal (62) have over 60. Andrade (128), Pappa (122), Rimm (113) and Warren (103) have all logged over 100 digs in 2025. 

ABOUT NORFOLK St.
The Spartans are led by Gabrielle Gilbert's 322 kills on the season, as the junior broke the 1,000 kill milestone earlier this season. Sydney McCree has a team high 373 assists while Jasmine Mataira adds 256. Defensively Mary Nahinu leads the Spartans with 233 digs. 

Gilbert's 1027 kills ranks her second all-time at Norfolk St. while her 322 is fifth most in a season. The Spartans have won the last four matches over the Pirates dating back to the 2023 season. 

100 CLUB
Racquel Frazier and Katerina Pappa have led the Pirates offense this season, as they are the only two players with over 100 kills. The two have recorded five or more kills in 18 of the teams 24 matches this season.

BLOCK PARTY
Lillian Campbell has recorded atleast one block in 18 of the Pirates 24 matches on the season. Throughout this season, Campbell has recorded multiple blocks in 10 matches.
