BOSTON, MASS. (Nov. 2, 2025) … Northeastern downed Hampton in three sets Sunday afternoon to sweep the weekend series over the Pirates.
In the first set, Northeastern used their momentum from match one to jump out to an early 14-2 lead. Jaya Rimm then buried home back-to-back kills, but ultimately it was the Huskies who controlled set one to take an early lead.
After falling down 4-1 in the second set, the Pirates fought back with two kills from Racquel Frazier. The two sides then exchanged points for the beginning stages of the set. The Pirates saw the Northeastern lead trimmed to four at the midway point after another Frazier kill, but the Huskies quickly responded with a 5-0 run to take full control of the second set. The Pirates added a 4-1 run late, but Northeastern earned the 25-16 win to take a 2-0 lead.
Hampton struck first in the third set when Katerina Pappa deposited a kill. Northeastern quickly went on a 5-0 run to take a 7-2 lead early in the third set. That lead grew larger when the Huskies rattled off another 5-0 run after a service ace, but the Pirates wouldn't go away. Trailing 14-7, Hampton went on a 9-0 run capped off by a Huskies miscue. Hampton kept that lead at 20-18 after Frazier buried home another kill, but ultimately it was Northeastern closing the set out with two straight points to win 25-23
Hampton was led by Frazier and Pappa's seven kills on offense, while Morgan Warren added a team best 12 assists. Rimm lead Hampton in digs with nine, while Maria Clara Andrade added six of her own.
