HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Campbell led just once, 2-1, in the first set as HU led the edge throughout. With the match tied at nine, Hampton went on a 10-1 run to go ahead 19-10 and put the set away. Four different Lady Pirates added kills in the spurt while Nicholas contributed a pair of blocks.

The Lady Pirates responded with kills from Isis Black and Alyah Barkley, along with an attack error to even the score again. Campbell fought off HU to win the next two points and even the match.
  • Hampton again led in the third, 19-18, but Campbell closed on a 7-1 run to take a 2-1 set advantage.
  • Campbell took advantage of a late scoring run in the fourth to escape with the victory. With the match tied at 17, Campbell went on a 7-2 run to go up 24-19 and bring up match point.
