Alyssa Sweeney scored a season-high 24 points to lead four in double figures as Hampton returned off exam break with a convincing win over Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
BEHIND THE BOXSCORE
- Sweeney scored 24 points in 29 minutes off the bench. She was 6-of-17 from 3-point range which ties for the sixth most three-point attempts in a game. The 24 points is a season-high for Sweeney along with the six 3-pointers made.
- Ashley Bates had another consistent outing with 21 points, six rebounds (all offensive) and seven steals. She was one off her career high in points and matched her career high in steals.
- Laren VanArsdale added 20 points, seven assists and three steals in 21 minutes. She set season highs in 3-pointers made (4), attempted (8) and assists (7) while matching season best in steals (3).
- Joining them in double figures was LaShayla Wright-Ponder with 11 points, four boards, two assists and two steals in 14 minutes. She tied her career-high in steals and set a career high in assists.
- As a team, the Lady Pirates scored the most points in a game under David Six and the most since a 122-90 win over Elizabeth City State on Jan. 26, 1989. It was the most points in a game since Hampton went NCAA Division I.
- The last time Hampton went over 100 points was a 106-57 win over Howard on Feb. 26, 2015.
- Hampton was 13-of-39 from 3-point range which breaks the record for most 3-point attempts in a game as the previous was 37 against Coppin State on Jan. 28, 2012.  They were one off the 3-point made record of 14 against UMBC on Dec. 10 ,2011.
