SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Hampton Lady Pirates softball team was swept in a Big South Conference doubleheader on Saturday falling 15-0 and 10-1 to USC Upstate.
In game one, the Pirates got a single by
DaSha Hill in the fourth inning to break up the no-hit attempt by Upstate's Christina Biggerstaff.  Hill stole second but was caught attempting to swipe third to end the fourth inning.
Game two saw the Lady Pirates scratch a run in the third as
Sarah Kollas reached on an error and was pinch-ran for by
Joya Greer.  She was sacrificed to second by
Morgan Crawford and then to third by
Casey Walker before a
Taylor Warrick single plated Greer as Hampton trailed 4-1.
Warrick was 2-for-2 to account for two of Hampton's three hits in game two.
Kial Watts had the other with a one-out single in the fourth.
These teams will play the series finale on Sunday at 1 pm which will be on ESPN+.
