HAMPTON, VA. – The Hampton Lady Pirates softball team was swept in a Big South Conference doubleheader on Saturday falling 2-1 and 5-0 to Charleston Southern University at home.
 
In game one, the Buccaneers jump out to a 2-0 lead, after a two-run homer by Jade Gandara in the top of the first. In the bottom of the third, 
Morgan Crawford started the inning with a double to left field. Pinch runner 
Camille King replaced Crawford and was driven in two batters later by 
Taylor Warrick to put the Lady Pirates on the board making it 2-1.

Kial Watts and 
Morgan Crawford all had a hit for Hampton as 
Allyson Babinsack took the tough luck loss throwing a complete game while allowing eight hits and two strikeouts.
 
In game two, a three-run double by Annie Bakenhus broke open a scoreless game in the top of the sixth as the guests took a 4-0 lead. The Buccaneers put another run across in the seventh on a solo home run by Rhiana Hubbard to take the 5-0 win.

Allie Hotetz struck out five.
 
These teams will play the series finale on Sunday at 1 pm at the HU Softball Stadium.
