WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Hampton cross country teams opened their 2019 seasons on Friday night running in the William & Mary Invitational as both teams finished fourth in their races at Eastern State Hospital.
On the men's side,
Geoffrey McCullough was Hampton's top finisher in 15
th place covering the 6k course in 21:02.2. Coby Price was next in 17
th (21:08.2), while Jordan Ross (24
th/23:21.3), Jeremiah Hill (25
th/23:35.6) and Josiah Hill (27
th/25:00.6) rounded out the times.
The women were paced by Alexia Phifer in 17
th covering the 5k course in 21:48.4.Â
Zuri Rashad was next in 18
th (21:56.0) and
Asia Johnson was right behind her in 19
th (22:25.7). Rounding out the Lady Pirates were DeVonya Brown (21
st/22:56.6) and
Gabrielle Chenault in 25
th (25:08.1).
Both teams are back in action on September 21 at the Eastern Shore Invitational in Princess Anne, Md.
