HAMPTON, Va. (May 9, 2024) – Hampton's track & field teams are preparing to battle in the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday (May 10-11). The meet will take place in Elon, N.C. at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex.

The 13 participating teams include Campbell, Charleston, Delaware, Elon, Hampton, Hofstra, Monmouth, North Carolina A&T, Northeastern, Stony Brook, Towson, UNCW, and William & Mary.

The women's hammer throw starts at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and the 1500m prelims kick-off at 3:00 p.m.

Over the course of the outdoor season, Hampton's track & field athletes have won a combined 29 events.

2023 CAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

At last year's meet, the women placed second (124 points) and the men finished sixth (68 points).

Dejah Grant won the 400m hurdles in a CAA Championship record time at 57.79. On the men's side, Dugion Blackman won the 800m race (1:47.69) Abraham Evans grabbed the gold medal in the long jump at 7.29m.
