BUIES CREEK, N.C. (Oct. 17, 2025) …. The Hampton volleyball team dropped match one of two with Campbell Friday night 3-0. 

In the first set, the Camels jumped out to an early 6-1 lead. The Pirates continued to battle, quickly bringing the score within three at 7-4 courtesy of a kill by Kylah McNeal. After exchanging points and two errors by Campbell, the Pirates trailed 11-8. Campbell then rattled off a 14-3 run to take set one from Hampton. 

Katerina Pappa got the scoring started in the second set when she pounded home a kill, but it was Campbell jumping out to a 15-3 lead. The Pirates fought back with a 4-1 run capped off by a kill from Racquel Frazier, but ultimately it was the early lead that allowed Campbell to take set two. That momentum continued into the third set, as Campbell took a 12-1 lead out of the gate. The Pirates showed fight late in the set, but ultimately it was the Camels taking match one 3-0. 

Hampton was led by Pappa's seven kills on the night while Morgan Warren led the Pirates with nine assists. Maria Clara Andrade recorded a team best seven digs, while McNeal added one block, extending her streak of one block or more in consecutive matches to 12.
