HAMPTON, Va. (March 15, 2025) … The Hampton Pirates men's lacrosse team opened Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) action on Saturday afternoon hosting the 16
th-ranked Fairfield Stags and fell 29-4.
Elijah Jean-Jacques got Hampton on the board with 5:55 left in the first period off a feed from
Jordan Alston as the Pirates trailed 3-1. Fairfield (8-0, 1-0) scored the next 10 goals before
Canyon Steverson scored an unassisted goal with 4:13 left in the half as Hampton trailed 13-2.
Hampton got goals in the second half from
Reed Shaw with 99 seconds left in the third and a length of the field goal from
Zion Garcia with five seconds left following a Fairfield turnover.
Jack Savarese and Kevin Dolan paced Fairfield with three goals apiece.
Hampton returns to action on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. hosting Queens (N.C.) at Armstrong Stadium before returning to CAA play on March 22 at Delaware.
