HAMPTON, Va. (April 10, 2025) … The Hampton University men's tennis team will finish its regular season on Sunday hosting Morgan State for Senior Day at 2 p.m.

A pre-match ceremony for Senior Day will be held at approximately 1:45 on Sunday prior to first serve to recognize Yanozie Amadike and Donte Armbrister.

Hampton (5-12) heads into Senior Day after a 4-0 win over Virginia State on Wednesday. The Pirates won both matches in doubles as Amadike and Armbrister won 6-0 at line one, and Aryan Arora with Kevin Jorquera took a 6-1 win at line two.

In singles, the Pirates took the first three spots, ending the dual match. Armbrister won 6-0, 6-0 at line one, Amadike took a 6-1, 6-0 at line two, and Jorquera won 6-1, 6-2 at line three to lock the win. Armbrister leads the team in singles wins with 10 and doubles wins with nine.

Morgan State (4-14) comes in off a 7-0 win over Coppin State on Wednesday. The Bears are topped by Mikeal Carpenter who is a sterling 12-1 in singles this season.
