PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2025) … Annie Clapp scored one goal and assisted on the other as homestanding Drexel defeated Hampton 2-0 in CAA Women's Soccer action on Sunday afternoon at Vidas Field.
Drexel (2-2-7, 1-0-1 CAA) peppered the Pirates defense early in the contest and found the opening goal as Clapp served one in toward the net and Jess Castorina maneuvered her way around two Pirate defenders and gave the hosts a 1-0 advantage just under 10 minutes into the contest.
In the second half, Clapp tallied the insurance goal on a breakaway after feeds from Emily Daiutolo and Sora Marable at 82:29 to put Drexel up 2-0. On the contest, Drexel held a 19-8 advantage in shots and a 4-2 margin in corner kicks.
Nylah Jennings and
Jayda Sutton each had a couple of shots for Hampton (5-5-1, 0-2-0 CAA), while
Avery John had five saves in net for the Pirates.
Hampton is back at Powhatan Field on Sunday afternoon for a 1 p.m. kick against Campbell.
