HAMPTON, Va. (March 21, 2026) … Visiting Hofstra University scored 10 runs in the first inning and made that stand up on Saturday defeating Hampton University 10-0 in five innings in game two of a CAA weekend softball series.
The Pride scored 10 runs, on six hits, and sent 16 players to the plate as they took advantage of six walks. Hampton (6-18, 1-7) ended the first and second innings as Aitrihna Aiken picked off runners at third and first respectively.
The Pirates also ended the top of the fourth inning as Morse singled to center and
Jayleen Reeves threw out pinch-hitter Jovel at the plate.
Hampton had five hits in the game by Aiken,
Violet Salazar,
Camryn Hamilton,
Santrea Armstead and
McKenzie Rimmer-Jones.
Kamryn Brown took the loss on the mound for the Pirates.
Hofstra was paced by Dahlia Palacio and Ryleigh Smith with two hits apiece. Emma Fallen took the win with a five-hit shutout and striking out eight.
Game three of this series will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the HU Softball Stadium.
