Hampton University sophomore Sonja Maksimovic was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past weekend on the volleyball court.

Maksimovic (Belgrade, Serbia), filling in at setter, averaged 9.0 assists per set over the weekend. She tallied a career-high 51 assists against host Norfolk State, to go along with nine digs on defense to leave her just shy of her fifth double-double of the season.

She also had 6.0 total blocks against the Spartans.

Against Texas-Pan American, Maksimovic had 28 assists, three service aces, and nine digs. She also had 38 assists and five digs against South Carolina State.
