Hampton University sophomore Vendula Strakova was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance on the volleyball court this past weekend.

Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) had a team-high seven kills in Friday's three-set win over Howard, while also recording a team-high 11 digs on defense and two service aces. She added four total blocks in helping the Lady Pirates remain in a tie for first place in the MEAC Northern Division with Maryland Eastern Shore.

Strakova accounted for a team-high 11.0 points against the Lady Bison.
