Hampton University senior forward Keiara Avant was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance on the hardwood this past week.

Avant (Chesapeake, Va.) averaged 13.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game over two contests this past week for the Lady Pirates. After scoring 14 points and grabbing eight rebounds on Thursday in a 22-point win at Saint Peter’s, she added 12 points and 14 rebounds on Sunday at Virginia Tech.

Sunday’s performance was Avant’s seventh double-double of the season.
