Hampton University freshman Taylor McCoy was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past weekend on the softball field.

McCoy (Riverview, Fla.) was a large part of the Lady Pirates’ success at the Elon Phoenix Clash this past weekend, going a combined 4-for-9 at the plate over the course of three games, driving in three runs total.

She went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs on Saturday against Temple – including her first career home run – while also recording six putouts. She was also 2-for-3 on Sunday against Temple, driving in another run and recording five putouts.
