Hampton University freshman Taylor McCoy was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past week on the softball field.

McCoy (Riverview, Fla.) went a combined 9-for-18 (.500) at the plate in four games for the Lady Pirates this past week, driving in four runs and scoring three times. She was 3-for-4 and 3-for-5 at the plate in both games of Saturday’s doubleheader at Maryland Eastern Shore.

She also had a double in Thursday’s 9-6 win over Howard.
