Hampton University Athletics

Senior Francena McCorory  was named on Monday as Hampton University’s Athlete of the Week for her performance on the track.

McCorory (Hampton, Va.) accounted for three event titles on Friday in the New Y ork City Gotham Cup at the Armory Track & Field Center. She took the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.51, before setting a school-record in winning the 500-meter dash at 1:10.74. McCorory was also on the 4x400-meter relay team that took the gold in 3:40.79.

The Lady Pirates won a combined eight event titles at the Gotham Cup.
