Hampton University freshman Kayla DeSchepper was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past week on the softball diamond.

DeSchepper (Lakewood, Colo.) hit a combined .538 in five games this past week against George Washington and Maryland Eastern Shore, helping the softball team go 4-1 for the week. She went 3-for-3 in the second game against George Washington on Wednesday, driving in two runs and scoring twice.
 
For the week, DeSchepper had seven hits and drove in five runs.
