Hampton University sophomore guard Malia Tate-DeFreitas was named HU Athlete of the Week on Monday for her performance on the basketball court this past week.

Tate-DeFreitas (Harrisburg, Pa.) averaged 24.5 points in two games for the Lady Pirates this past week, including a 25-point performance on 10-for-23 shooting on Saturday against Delaware State. She also had five steals in that game.

On Monday at Morgan State, Tate-DeFreitas had 24 points and eight rebounds.
