Hampton University senior Ricardo Silva was named HU Athlete of the Week following his stellar performance on Saturday at North Carolina Central.

Silva (Baltimore, Md.) was named Sporting News/Fathead.com FCS Defensive Player of the Week, as well as MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, after the Pirates beat NCCU 27-13 on Saturday. Silva tied for the team high in tackles with 15, including four solo stops, and Silva's 68-yard interception return for a touchdown with two minutes left helped seal Hampton's fourth straight win.

Silva also forced a fumble against the Eagles.
