Hampton University freshman guard Nicole Hamilton was named HU Athlete of the Week after her outstanding performance on the basketball court.

Hamilton (Hampton, Va.) was named MEAC Rookie of the Week after scoring a career-high 22 points at Coppin State on Saturday. She also scored a team-high 17 points in Monday's blowout win at Morgan State.

Hamilton also scored 15 points on Thursday at Wake Forest.

In that three-game span, Hamilton, a product of nearby Phoebus High School, shot a combined 20-for-46 (43.8 percent) from the floor, making 11 of her 24 3-point attempts.
