Senior guard Choicetta McMillian was named Hampton University Athlete of the Week after her outstanding performance on the basketball court.

McMillian (Fairfield, Texas) led the Lady Pirates to a season-opening 60-37 over Pitt in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Saturday, scoring a game-high 22 points on the strength of a 5-for-15 effort from behind the arc.

McMillian also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out three assists.
