Hampton University sophomore quarterback Travis Champion was named HU Athlete of the Week following his performance on the gridiron this past weekend.

Champion (Moreno Valley, Calif.) threw for a career-high 347 yards at Florida A&M, going 28-for-53 in the air and throwing a 33-yard touchdown pass to Andre Griffin. It was Hampton’s first 300-yard passing game since Herbert Bynes threw for 401 yards against Florida A&M in 2008.

Champion completed passes to 12 different receivers.
