Tomlin, Ed Ward, Walter "Fuzzy" Warren, Terrence Warwick, Darryl Williams, Tarvis Reginald Lee Doss Class Induction 2009 Sport(s) Football A stalwart defensive end at Hampton from 1974 -77, Reggie Doss was a gridiron terror for the Pirates during his collegiate years. He amassed 281 tackles during his career with the Pirates, en route to becoming one of the true HU legends of the game. Doss, a native of Mobile, Alabama who grew up in San Antonio, Texas, collected 156 tackles during the 1977 season. He finished his career with 147 solo tackles and compiled 25 tackles in a single game against Virginia Union University on November 19, 1977. Doss’ efforts led to his selection as a NAIA All-American in 1977 and as an honorable-mention Associate Press All-American in both 1976 and 1977. Additionally, he was named to the All-CIAA team in 1976 and 1977.
