HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University women's basketball team will look for its fourth straight win on Friday evening, when the Lady Pirates welcome the Gators of the University of Florida to the HU Convocation Center at 6 p.m.

David Six, won their third straight game on Wednesday, beating East Carolina 69-63 at the Minges Coliseum. Junior guard
Jericka Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas) led the Lady Pirates with 22 points, going 12-for-15 from the free throw line, while senior forward
Quanneisha Perry (Decatur, Ga.) added 17 points and junior forward
Melanie Warner (Tallahassee, Fla.) poured in 14.
Florida (8-2) upended Harvard 86-65 on Tuesday for its sixth win in the past seven games, shooting a season-best 49.2 percent from the floor. Four Gators scored in double figures, led by 16 points from freshman guard Brittany Shine. Sophomore guard Jennifer George added 13 points, while freshman guards Kayla Lewis and Jaterra Bonds each scored 11.
Hampton is 0-1 all-time against Florida, dropping the only meeting between the two teams on Dec. 30, 1997. The Gators won that game 92-55 in Gainesville, Fla.
Florida returns just six letterwinners, including two starters, from last year's squad that earned a bid to the Preseason WNIT. The Gators went 15-17 last season, finishing tied for seventh in the SEC with a conference mark of 7-9.
Jordan Jones in the lone gator averaging in double figures so far this season, averaging a team-high 10.3 points per game. Azania Stewart, on top of being second on the team in scoring with 8.2 points per contest, while also pulling down a team-high 7.5 rebounds a night.
The Gators are averaging 66.5 points per game on offense, while only giving up 58.8 points per game.
After beating Howard 68-52 on Dec. 4, the Lady Pirates are 1-2 at the HU Convocation Center so far this season. The Lady Pirates were 10-3 at the HU Convocation Center last season, winning their last seven home contests. Hampton went 7-1 at home in MEAC games last season, and Six is 10-3 in his career as a head coach at home.
Hampton is 0-6 all-time against schools from the SEC. The Lady Pirates are 0-2 against Alabama, 0-1 against Arkansas, 0-1 against Florida, 0-1 against Georgia and 0-1 against Vanderbilt. Hampton last faced an SEC school during the 2008-09 season, when Alabama beat the Lady Pirates 68-60 on Nov. 22, 2008.
