Central Michigan Game Notes | Tulane Game Notes
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Hampton University women's basketball team will look to keep up its winning ways on Wednesday and Thursday, competing in the DoubleTree Classic hosted by Tulane University at the Fogelman Arena.
The Lady Pirates will take on Central Michigan on Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST, before squaring off against either Tulane or College of Charleston on Thursday at 7 or 9 p.m. EST.
Hampton (8-2) has won six of its last seven games after defeating Boston College 71-63 on Dec. 22. Senior guard
Choicetta McMillian (Fairfield, Texas) led the way with 22 points, while senior forward
Melanie Warner (Tallahassee, Fla.) chipped in 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

Jericka Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas) added 13 points and nine assists, while junior forward
Keiara Avant (Chesapeake, Va.) added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Central Michigan (7-5) has won five straight games after a 65-60 win over Wright State on Dec. 20. Freshman guard Crystal Bradford led the way with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while freshman guard Jessica Green added 11 points and sophomore forward Jordan LaDuke pulled down 12 rebounds.
The Chippewas went 20-11 last season, finishing 11th in the MAC West Division with an 11-5 mark and advancing to the WNIT. Central Michigan, under sixth-year head coach Sue Guevara, returns nine letterwinners from last season and was picked to finish second in the West.
Bradford leads Central Michigan in scoring with 14.6 points per game, to go along with a team-high 7.6 rebounds per contest, while freshman forward Jas'Mine Bracey is averaging 11.2 points a night. Green is pouring in 10.3 points a contest.
The Chippewas are averaging 73.3 points a game on offense, while giving up 69.2 points a night.
Tulane (9-2) has won three in a row following a 75-40 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Dec. 22. Junior guard Olivia Grayson led the Green Wave with 17 points, while freshman forward Tiffany Dale earned her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Grayson is the team's leading scorer so far this season, coming into the DoubleTree Classic with an average of 13.7 points a night. Senior center Brett Benzio is second in scoring, at 9.2 points a contest, while also pulling down a team-high 9.6 rebounds a game.
The Green Wave, under 17th-year head coach Lisa Stockton, average 62.9 points a game on offense, while giving up just 51.0 points a game.
College of Charleston (2-8) has lost three in a row after falling 72-24 to Connecticut on Dec. 21. Freshman guard Jazz Green was the team's top scorer with eight points, while junior forward Cathryn Hardy led the way on the boards with six rebounds.
Hardy and junior guard Megan Fischer are the team's leading scorers with 7.1 points each a game coming into the DoubleTree Classic, while junior center Latisha Harris is pulling down a team-high 7.3 rebounds a night.
Charleston, in its 17th season under head coach Nancy Wilson, is averaging just 44.2 points a game on offense, while giving up 60.1 points a game.
Hampton is 1-0 all-time against College of Charleston (winning the lone meeting 76-74 in overtime on Jan. 24, 1996) and 0-1 against Tulane (the Green Wave took the only previous meeting 82-75 on Nov. 24, 2001).
The Lady Pirates have never faced Central Michigan.
