DOVER, Del. – The Hampton University women's basketball team will look for its ninth straight win on Saturday, as the Lady Pirates will head to Memorial Hall to take on Delaware State at 5 p.m.

David Six, won their eighth straight game on Monday, beating Florida A&M 88-49 in their home finale at the HU Convocation Center to clinch the MEAC regular-season championship. Junior guard
Choicetta McMillian (Fairfield, Texas) led the Lady Pirates with 18 points on 5-for-9 3-point shooting, while junior guard
Jericka Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas) added 17 points and 11 assists. Senior forward
Quanneisha Perry (Decatur, Ga.) scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and senior guard
Laura Lewis (Dallas, Texas) added 12 points.
Delaware State (9-17, 5-9 MEAC) won its second straight game on Monday, beating Coppin State 51-49 at the CSU Physical Education Complex. Senior forward Brittany Washington led the Lady Hornets with 15 points, while freshman guard Kianna Conner added 11 points.
Hampton is 25-12 all-time against Delaware State, having won the last five meetings between the two teams – including a 52-29 decision earlier this season on Jan. 29 at the HU Convocation Center. The Lady Pirates swept last year's meetings, winning 62-43 at Memorial Hall on Jan. 30, 2010 before beating the Lady Hornets 47-41 on Feb. 27, 2010 at the HU Convocation Center. Dating back to 2001, Hampton has won 17 of 21 meetings against Delaware State. The two teams first met on Nov. 16, 1979, with Delaware State winning 76-68. Hampton is 8-7 against the Lady Hornets on the road.
The Lady Pirates have won 20 games for the second straight season following Monday's 88-49 win over Florida A&M – the first time Hampton has had back-to-back 20-win seasons since 1992-93 (20-9) and 1993-94 (21-9).
The Lady Hornets went 6-24 last season, finishing 10th in the MEAC with a 4-12 mark. Delaware State returns two starters and six letterwinners from last year's squad, and the team was picked to finish 10th in the MEAC this season.
Conner leads the Lady Hornets in scoring with 9.9 points per game, while Washington is pouring in 8.6 points a night to go along with a team-high 8.0 rebounds per contest.
The Lady Hornets are scoring 53.2 points per game, while giving up 60.4 points a night.
So far this season, the Lady Pirates are 9-4 on the road, having defeated James Madison 69-64 in the first round of the Preseason WNIT before falling 76-64 at South Dakota State, 64-57 at Charlotte and 62-49 at Wake Forest. Hampton has also defeated Radford 52-51, East Carolina 69-63, Georgia State 74-44, Coppin State 76-56, Morgan State 68-37, Florida A&M 59-47, Norfolk State 74-53 and North Carolina A&T 74-66 on the road. Six is 15-11 on the road for his career as a head coach.
