Game Notes
HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University women's basketball team will square off against Coppin State on Monday at 6 p.m. at the HU Convocation Center, looking to remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Lady Pirates (13-5, 4-0 MEAC) picked up their fourth straight win on Saturday with a 66-60 comeback win over Morgan State. Junior guard
Nicole Hamilton (Hampton, Va.) led the way with a career-high 24 points, while senior forward
Keiara Avant (Chesapeake, Va.) added 12 points and 12 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season.

The Lady Eagles went 20-12 last season, finishing fourth in the MEAC with a mark of 13-3 before falling to Hampton in the MEAC Tournament semifinals. Coppin State, in its 14th season under head coach Derek Brown, return three starters and were picked to finish third in the MEAC this season.
Spotwood leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.3 points per game to go along with a team-high 8.3 rebounds per contest. Junior forward Kyra Coleman is averaging 11.6 points per game, while Payne is pouring in 11.2 points per contest.
Spotwood is fifth in the MEAC in rebounding and 11th in the conference in scoring.
Morgan State is averaging 63.6 points per game, while giving up 63.9 points a contest.

Since joining the MEAC in 1995-96, the Lady Pirates have won five regular-season and six tournament titles — including each of the last three under head coach
David Six. Hampton has a winning record against every MEAC team.
Hampton's first regular season title came in 1998-99, and the Lady Pirates first won the MEAC Tournament, and its corresponding NCAA bid, in 2000.
Under head coach
David Six, the Lady Pirates are 33-6 at the HU Convocation Center over the past three-plus seasons — including a 9-1 record at home last season. Hampton's lone home loss last season came in overtime against Coppin State, 69-66 on Jan. 28.
Prior to that loss, the Lady Pirates had won 16 straight home games under Six. The Lady Pirates are 4-0 at home so far this season following Saturday's 66-60 win over Morgan State.
