Howard's last loss came on Jan. 12 – against Hampton.

The Lady Bison went 24-9 last season, finishing second in the MEAC with a 14-2 record before advancing to the first round of the WNIT. Howard, in its fifth season under head coach Niki Reid Geckeler, returns all five starters from last season, and the Lady Bison were tabbed the preseason favorite to win the MEAC.

Doyle is leading the team in both scoring (22.9 points per game) and rebounding (9.1 rebounds per game), while senior guard Kara Smith is averaging 10.1 points per contest. Doyle leads the MEAC in scoring and his fourth in rebounding.

Howard is averaging just 54.7 points per game on offense, while giving up just 51.7 points a contest

Hampton is 24-20 all-time against Howard, and the Lady Pirates have won the last eight meetings — including 52-50 in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 12. The Lady Bison last defeated Hampton on Dec. 5, 2009, a 48-47 defeat in Washington, D.C. The Lady Pirates are 11-6 at home against Howard.

Since joining the MEAC in 1995-96, the Lady Pirates have won five regular-season and six tournament titles — including each of the last three under head coach David Six. Hampton has a winning record against every MEAC team.

Hampton's first regular-season MEAC title came in 1998-99, and the Lady Pirates first won the MEAC Tournament, and its corresponding NCAA bid, in 2000.

Under head coach David Six, the Lady Pirates are 34-6 at the HU Convocation Center over the past three-plus seasons — including a 9-1 record at home last season. Hampton's lone home loss last season came in overtime against Coppin State, 69-66 on Jan. 28.

Prior to that loss, the Lady Pirates had won 16 straight home games under Six. The Lady Pirates are 6-0 at home so far this season following Monday's 58-50 win over Coppin State.
