ABOUT HAMPTON
Hampton is 11-7 and 5-0 in MEAC action after a thrilling win in the first Battle of the Bay 58-57 at Norfolk State on Saturday. Freshman
Ashley Bates recorded her first double-double with season-highs of 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Kaylah Lupoe just missed a double-double with 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots, while
Monnazjea Finney-Smith had 11 points.
The Lady Pirates trailed Norfolk State by 13 points to start the fourth quarter and outscored the Spartans 28-14 for the thrilling win.
ABOUT SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
The Bulldogs are 4-12 overall and 1-4 in MEAC action after knocking off Morgan State 50-48 on Monday night at home. Bryeasha Blair scored 21 points to lead South Carolina State and Brittany Drumgoole topped them with 11 rebounds.

Ashley Bates were named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively for their performances in the come-from-behind win at Norfolk State.
Bates averaged 12 points, 8.5 rebounds and hit 50% from 3-point range in two games. Her 8-of-10 performance from the foul line helped Hampton seal the win at NSU. Lupoe averaged 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocked shots in the two wins, including a career-high tying six against NCCU and four of her five blocks against NSU came in the decisive fourth quarter.
