LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Sophomore
Jermaine Marrow scored 21 points and dished out eight assists as Hampton opened its 2017-18 season with a 90-75 loss at Rider on Friday night.
After a 36-all first half, the host Broncos outscored Hampton 54-39 in the second half as Jordan Allen paced five starters in double figures for Rider with 21 points.
Lysander Bracey tossed in 19 points going 4-of-5 from 3-point range off the bench, while
Greg Heckstall also had 11 points and five rebounds.Â
Trevond Barnes,
Austin Colbert and
Kalin Fisher all had six ponts each for Hampton.
The Pirates open their home schedule on Sunday at 5 pm facing Bluefield College in the HU Convocation Center.
