NORFOLK, Va. – The Hampton Lady Pirates will open the Thursday slate of games in the 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament by facing Maryland Eastern Shore in the quarterfinals at the Norfolk Scope at noon.

ABOUT HAMPTON
Hampton is 17-12 and finished 11-5 in MEAC action after defeating Coppin State 65-61 on March 2 in Baltimore. Junior
Jephany Brown had a season-high 17 points to lead three in double figures for Hampton.
K'lynn Willis added 15 points and four steals, while
Monnazjea Finney-Smith had 13 points, 11 rebounds and four steals.
ABOUT MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE
Maryland Eastern Shore won its first-round game in the tournament on Monday defeating Coppin State 62-59 in a game that saw nine ties and 13 lead changes. Alexus Hicks paced three in double figures with 18 points draining 4-of-6 from 3-point land. Moe Subritzky added 12 points, six assists and six rebounds, while Tori Morris had 10 points and four rebounds.
LAST TIME AGAINST HAWKS
Hampton had a 21-point second half lead and lost a 68-65 decision on February 1 in the HU Convocation Center.
Monnazjea Finney-Smith had 18 points to lead Hampton, while DeJane James added 14 and
Georgianna Gilbeaux chipped in with 10 points.
Mariah McCoy had 18 points to lead Maryland Eastern Shore as she was 4-of-7 from 3-point land.
TURNING THEM OVER
Hampton has made a habit of turning teams over this year as they lead the conference in forced turnovers at 21.76 per game. That ranks them fifth nationally, while their +6.83 turnover margin ranks them eighth in NCAA Division I.
WITH A WIN
With a win on Thursday, Hampton will advance to a 2pm semifinal as they'll face seventh-seeded North Carolina A&T at 2 pm on Friday.
