WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Hampton University men's cross country team opened its 2017 season on Friday evening with a sixth place finish at the William & Mary Cross Country Invitational held at Eastern State Hospital.
Junior
Emmanuel Too was the top finisher for Hampton coming in 13
th place in 19:02.53 over the 6k Eastern State course. Sophomore
Geoffrey McCullough was next for Hampton in 50
th in 20:25.85, while senior
Stanley Davis was 62
nd in 20:55.23 and freshman Coby Price was 63
rd in 20:56.93.
Rounding out the Pirate contingent on Friday night was sophomore Tayvon Burris (69
th/21:51.33), senior
Eric Ellis (74
th/22:32.07) and senior Justin Beatty (81
st/27:06.99).
Charlotte won the team race scoring 19 points with four runners in the top six finishers. George Washington was second with 50 points, followed by Norfolk State (65), Christopher Newport (130), William & Mary (141) and Hampton with 154.
Hampton will return to action next Friday in Charlottesville for the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia.
