NORFOLK, Va. -- The Hampton Lady Pirates concluded their opening round of the MEAC Championship on Thursday with a 4-0 win over North Carolina A&T.
 

In doubles play, the Lady Pirates took all three matches to earn the team point.  Hampton (10-7) won 6-3 at lines one and three to clinch the point.

In singles play, Hampton won the three completed matches to secure the dual victory. Kiah Turner won 6-0, 6-3 at line three to put Hampton up 2-0.  Yulia Kapitanova won at line two 6-4, 6-1 for a 3-0 lead, while Miriam Mitaishvili won 6-3, 7-6, 7-4 at line one to clinch the 4-0 victory. 

Hampton will play Bethune-Cookman on Friday at 9am at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on the campus of Old Dominion University.
