LYNCHBURG, VA – The Hampton University Track and Field team traveled to Liberty University to compete in the second annual Brant Tolsma Invitational last weekend.

Maya Seay placed first in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.59 seconds, just .01 off her career best.
Â
Noah Langford finished in second place in the men's 400-meter, but with a new personal best time of 49.34 seconds. Langford also took third in the men's 60-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in just 8.30 seconds.

Abraham Evans took third place in the men's long jump event, hitting a mark of 7.23 meters.

Amira Aduma took third place in the women's 400-meter, with a new personal best time of 56.21 seconds.

Both the men's and women's 4x400 relay teams took first place. The men's squad, featuring Langford, Evans, Josiah Hill and Dugion Blackman finished with a time of 3:18:82. The women's squad, featuring Kyna Robinson, Aduma, Jordan Mozie and Dejah Grant, finished with a time 3:49:54.

Dieusi Armand took second place in women's triple jump with an 11.90 mark.

The Pirates had two top-five finishers in men's triple jump. Both Otis Slayton (4
th) and Keivon Banks (5
th) finished with 13.65-meter and 13.16-meter marks respectively.

The Pirates also had two top-five finishers in the women's shot-put event. Victoria Caldwell (3
rd) and Nya Harmon (5
th) finished with marks of 13.20 meters and 13.05 meters.

The track and field teams will be back in action January 28-29 at the South Carolina Invitational.
