HAMPTON, Va.  (Dec. 11, 2024) … The Hampton University women's basketball returns to the friendly confines of the HU Convocation Center on Thursday, December 12 with an 11 a.m. tip against East Carolina.
 
The game will be streamed on FloSports and will have live stats available.

ABOUT HAMPTON
The Lady Pirates are coming off an 11-day break for exams after knocking off Georgia 76-74 in OT on December 1. Amayah Reaves hit a 3-pointer with 4.7 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and Tyra Kennedy's floater beat the buzzer in overtime for the game-winning shot.
 
Jasha Clinton had 20 points and five steals to lead three in double figures for Hampton at Georgia. Jenae Dublin added 15 points and six rebounds, while Reaves chipped in with a season high 12 points and four assists.
 
Clinton leads the Lady Pirates in scoring at 13.8 points per game and in steals at 2.8 per game, while CeCe Thomas is next at 8.7 points per game. 2.3 points per game. Dublin is averaging 7.5 points and a team-high 5.5 rebounds per game, while Le'Asia Foreman is averaging 7.3 points and is second in rebounding at 4.3 per game.

Hampton is third in the league in bench points scored per game (21.3 ppg), while fourth in free throws made per game (11.8) and fifth in blocked shots per game (3.2).
 
The defense has forced an average of 22.3 turnovers per game to rank second in the league and with 9.7 steals per game Hampton is third in the CAA.

ABOUT EAST CAROLINA
East Carolina snapped a two-game losing skid with a 60-44 win over Elon on Sunday afternoon. Khia Miller scored 24 points, while Amiya Joyner had 12 points and eight rebounds. ECU scored the first nine points of the game and forced 24 turnovers in the contest.
 
Joyner leads the team in scoring averaging 14.8 points and a team-best 8.4 rebounds per game. Hampton native Jayla Hearp is next in scoring at 11.0 points per game. As a team, ECU is averaging 59.1 points per game and is allowing 59 points per contest.
 
East Carolina has wins over Charleston Southern (81-56), Furman (67-51) and Howard (65-44) along with Elon. They have lost to JMU (57-51), then top-ranked South Carolina (95-44) and a pair in the UNLV Tournament falling to Montana State (62-56) and host UNLV (64-49).
