HAMPTON, Va. (Dec. 16, 2024) … The Hampton University women's basketball team will finish off their 2024-25 home non-conference slate on Tuesday evening hosting former conference rival Gardner-Webb at 7 p.m.

These teams met seven times while Hampton was a member of the Big South Conference with Gardner-Webb holding a slight 4-3 advantage. The last meeting saw Gardner-Webb take a 92-82 win over Hampton in Boiling Springs, North Carolina on Feb. 1, 2022, as
Amyah Reaves came off the bench to score 13 points in that contest. Hampton won the previous meeting 46-38 on Dec. 31, 2020. Gardner-Webb has won both meetings in the HU Convocation Center.

The Lady Pirates are back in action after falling 79-47 to East Carolina on December 12.
Jenae Dublin came off the bench for her first double-double as a Lady Pirate with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Jasha Clinton leads the Lady Pirates in scoring at 12.8 points per game and in steals at 2.3 per game, while Dublin is next at 9.0 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds per game.
CeCe Thomas is averaging 8.3 points and is second on the team in assists with 19, while
Le'Asia Foreman is averaging 6.9 points and is second in rebounding at 4.1 per game.
Hampton is second in the league in bench points scored per game (22.3 ppg), and forced turnovers per game (21.9), while third in steals (9.1) per game.
ABOUT GARDNER-WEBB
This is the first game back for Gardner-Webb after its exam break as they defeated Western Carolina 73-65 on December 6. Ashley Hawkins paced four in double figures with 25 points to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Hawkins leads the team in scoring averaging (15.1 ppg), assists (4.4 apg) and tied for lead in steals (1.2 spg). Elle Blatchford is the other double figure scorer averaging 12.0 points per game. VCU transfer Elze Motekaityte is averaging 9.6 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game.
