HAMPTON, Va. (Dec. 29, 2024) … Hampton's Lady Pirates prepare to take on longtime rival Delaware State in women's basketball action on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024. The game is slated for Delaware State's Memorial Hall Gym at 4:00 p.m.
Hampton leads the series over the Hornets by a 39-13 margin. The Lady Pirates have posted a 16-7 at Memorial Hall Gym and have won 19 of the last 20 meetings between the teams. The two last met on Dec. 12, 2022 with Hampton winning a 67-48 decision over Delaware State at the Hampton Convocation Center.
Hampton (3-7) looks to snap a two-game losing streak. After upsetting SEC foe Georgia 76-74 in overtime on Dec. 1, the Lady Pirates lost both games at the Florida International Christmas Classic, falling to host Florida International 70-60 on Dec. 20 and to George Washington 72-69 on Dec. 21.

Second-year Hornet coach Jazmone Turner has seen her team post a 3-9 record this season. Delaware State is winless in December, having lost its last five contests including a 72-45 setback at Penn on Dec. 20 in its last game.

Hampton starts CAA play on Friday night up Interstate 64 facing the Tribe of William & Mary at 7 p.m. in Williamsburg.
