PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (September 21, 2024) – The Hampton Pirates men's cross country team won the Soaring Hawk Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the UMES Recreation Fields.
This is the first meet the Pirates have won since the Panther Cross Country Classic in 2011.
The squad finished the 8K with 63 points, ahead of Coppin State, Delaware State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State, and St. Peter's.
Mohammed Al-YaFee grabbed the third overall spot with a time of 27:18.6.
Khalid Hamid finished next in fifth (27:31.54). Freshmen
Nellie Ambriton and
Daniel Danner crossed the finish line after in 13th and 17th place (29:04.67, 29:39.58). Ibrahim Abdalla placed 25th for Hampton (31:24.52).
