HAMPTON, Va.  (January 16, 2025) … The Hampton University women's basketball team will begin a four-game homestand on Friday night when they host the Delaware Blue Hens at 7 p.m. inside the HU Convocation Center.

SERIES VS. DELAWARE
Hampton holds a 2-1 lead in the all-time series with Delaware. The Blue Hens took their victory in Delaware last season with a 76-61 victory. Hampton defeated Delaware in the 2023 CAA Tournament at Towson 78-67 and won the last meeting inside the Convocation Center on March 4, 2023 with a 77-72 victory.

ABOUT HAMPTON
The Pirates are back on the home court after dropping a 72-42 contest at Campbell on January 12 in Buies Creek, N.C. Jasha Clinton had nine points to lead Hampton, while Tyra Kennedy had seven and Casey Miller recorded a season-high seven points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
Clinton leads the team in scoring (15.3 ppg) and steals (2.4 spg). CeCe Thomas is next at 8.1 points and 2.4 assists per game, while Jenae Dublin is at 7.8 points and a team-best 5.3 rebounds per game.

Hampton is second in the league in steals per game (10.1 spg), opponent turnovers per game (20.47), third in free throw attempts per game (18.8) and fifth in bench points per game (20.1).

ABOUT DELAWARE
The Blue Hens head toward Hampton after a 65-49 loss to league-leading N.C. A&T on Friday, January 10 at home. Tara Cousins had 15 points, while Ande'a Cherisier added 13 points and six rebounds to lead Delaware.

Cherisier leads the team in scoring (11.5 ppg), third in rebounding (5.8 rpg) and steals (1.0 spg). Cousins follows her in scoring (11.5 ppg), leads in assists (3.1 apg) and second in steals (1.1 spg). Chloe Wilson rounds out the double figure scorers averaging 10.7 points per game and leads in rebounding at 8.8 rpg.

The Blue Hens lead the league in three-point percentage (.346) and third in field goal percentage (.395).
