HAMPTON, Va. (February 6, 2025) … The Hampton Pirates start the month of February with their only split weekend of the season as they head to Towson on Friday for a rematch with the Tigers at 6:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the Pirates host William & Mary inside the HU Convocation Center for a 2 p.m. tip on Play For Kay Day.
SERIES VS. TOWSON
The Tigers hold a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series after Hampton took the first matchup this year 61-58 on January 24 at home.
Jasha Clinton had 19 points, while
Aisha Dabo added 14 points and five rebounds to lead Hampton as the Pirates outscored the Tigers 25-15 in the fourth quarter to take the win.
ABOUT HAMPTON
Hampton closed out the month of January dropping a 74-51 decision to North Carolina A&T on Friday. Clinton scored 23 points hitting five three-pointers to lead the Pirates.
She leads the team in scoring averaging 14.4 points per game, while Dabo is next at 7.9 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game.
CeCe Thomas follows at 7.7 points and
Jenae Dublin is at 7.3 points and a team high 4.9 rebounds per game.
The Pirates are second in the league in turnovers forced averaging 19.7 per game, while also second in steals per game (9.6).Â
REAVES APPROACHING CAREER TOP 10
Senior guard
Amyah Reaves is approaching the top 10 career assists list for Hampton. The Chandler, Arizona native has 252 assists in her Pirate career and is five away from cracking into the career top 10. Tenth place is held by Lineni Noa with 256.
ABOUT TOWSON
Towson has lost two of its three games since playing Hampton on January 24. The Tigers dropped a 58-47 decision at William & Mary on January 26, they defeated Delaware 62-48 on January 31 and fell to Drexel 53-49 on Sunday.
India Johnston leads the team in scoring (11.8 ppg), three-pointers made (34), free throws made (36) and percentage (.750). Khady Leye adds 11 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game. Anasia Staton averages 10.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
In the first meeting, Kayla Morris had 14 points and Leye added 11 for the Tigers who shot 46% from the field (22-48), 40% from 3-point range (6-15) and 88.9% from the line (8-9).
COMING UP NEXT
Hampton will be home to host Interstate 64 rival William & Mary at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Following that game, they'll be on the road next weekend at Stony Brook on February 14 and Monmouth on February 16.
